The end of the balancing act is approaching
Salary transparency was a taboo subject for a long time – that is now changing.
The EU Wage Transparency Directive brings clarity and fairness to compensation systems. From June 2026, the following will apply:
✅ Salary ranges must be disclosed – for applicants and employees.
✅ Competence criteria Factors such as responsibility, workload, working conditions and skills become the basis for salary differences – no longer negotiating skills.
✅ Companies with 50 or more employees must be able to name objective criteria for the position in the salary range.
That means:
- For candidates: More security and less guessing.
- For recruiters: Transparent communication instead of negotiation poker.
- For managers: Fair, understandable decisions.
I am convinced that this directive is a Gamechanger for culture and equality.
